Karachi, Sindh: The Minister for Local Government in Sindh, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has requested the PTI to reconsider their call for a Pehel Jam strike on February 8th. While addressing a gathering in Korangi, Shah stated that the PTI’s call for the strike should be withdrawn, as the government cannot afford to deal with the potential chaos and unrest that may follow. He alleged that PTI workers are trying to recreate the May 9th tragedy and that their own workers would face difficulties if the strike call is not withdrawn.
The Sindh Minister further stated that the PTI’s intention is to create chaos and unrest in the city, while the Sindh government has been working to promote development and welfare projects. He mentioned that the Sindh government has provided pink scooters to women and is also providing them with training. Shah also announced that number plates bearing the names of important personalities, including President Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and PTI’s founder Imran Khan, will be auctioned.
Shah also took a swipe at the PTI’s claim that Sindh is being divided, stating that this is nothing but a baseless rumor. He emphasized that the Sindh government is working to promote the welfare of its citizens, including providing them with benefits from the Nadra centre. The Minister also stated that the PTI’s claim that the Sindh government is failing to provide cards to citizens is not true, as the process of obtaining cards has become complicated due to various reasons.
The Sindh Minister also criticized the PTI for trying to disrupt the development projects in Korangi, stating that the PTI has created a web of obstacles to hinder the progress of these projects. He also mentioned that the Sindh government has provided various facilities to the people of Korangi, including providing them with pink scooters and training.
Meanwhile, the opposition alliance, Tahreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Asaan Pakistan, has stated that they are prepared for a long-drawn-out struggle and will not back down from their demands. The party’s general secretary, Asad Qaiser, stated that the people of Sindh will not be intimidated by the PTI’s threats.
The Sindh government has also come under fire from the PTI, with the party’s chairman, Barrister Gohar, stating that the Sindh government is being run by a mafia. The PTI has also criticized the Sindh government for not providing adequate facilities to the people of the province.
In a separate development, the Federal Minister for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, has stated that the KP Assembly members should write to the Federal government rather than trying to create chaos in the city. He also emphasized that the real issues facing the country are the high prices of taxes and energy, rather than the Sindh government’s policies.
