Sindh Home Minister, Zia Languar, has denied MQM leaders’ claims of withdrawal of security, stating that individuals provided with security for law and order purposes are still being provided. In an interview with Geo News, he said that Mustafa Kamal and Khalid Maqbool are in Islamabad and have not returned their security.
“This stance has been vindicated that the federation should take control of Karachi under Article 148,” he said. On the other hand, IG Sindh has expressed ignorance about the withdrawal of security from federal ministers Mustafa Kamal and Dr. Khalid Maqbool. He stated that the two ministers have been in Islamabad since last night and were provided security on the recommendation of the Threat Assessment Committee.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Health and MQM leader Mustafa Kamal had confirmed the return of MQM leaders’ security.
