The Sindh High Court has rejected an appeal filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the acquittal of Allah Dino Khan Bhayo, an advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh and a former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA).
In its remarks, the court stated that the NAB prosecution completely failed to prove any significant legal flaw or error in the original judgment delivered by the accountability court.
The court noted that the NAB prosecutor was only able to point out a minor numerical typo in one paragraph of the judgment, rather than identifying any substantial error in the evidence or the legal interpretation.
The High Court ruled that, in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines, there was no valid reason to interfere with the accountability court’s decision. NAB had initially accused Mr. Bhayo of receiving 48 million rupees from contractors, but he was acquitted by the trial court due to insufficient evidence.
