Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori arrived at the Karachi residence of Fraquan Ali, a fireman who lost his life in the Gul Plaza tragedy. On this occasion, the Governor met with Fraquan Ali’s family, expressed his condolences, and spoke to the media. During his conversation with the media, he stated that many lives were lost in the Gul Plaza tragedy, many business establishments were destroyed, and this great young man, Fraquan Ali, lost his life while performing his duty. The Governor said that Fraquan Ali was rescuing people and fighting the fire when he lost his life, and this incident is a lesson for politicians and other institutions.
The Governor expressed his concern that during the rescue operation and the removal of debris, a serious lack of attention was evident. He said that such young people also exist who do not care about their lives, and there is no substitute for life, neither money nor anything else. The Governor stated that this fire station should be named after Fraquan Ali, and he will also request the Mayor of Karachi to name a street after him.
The Governor emphasized that instead of politics or personal interests, we should learn from this incident and devise a strategy to prevent such incidents in the future. He said that over 100 relatives are waiting for the DNA test of their loved ones. The Governor criticized the ongoing political rivalry between the parties, stating that Karachi has already witnessed a lot of bloodshed, and every institution should be audited, and each institution should be accountable for its actions.
He asked if we have any mechanisms or resources to deal with such incidents. The Governor announced that Fraquan Ali will be nominated for a civil award, and he will also write a letter to the President. He stated that Fraquan Ali’s family will be given a plot of land, and a builder will build a house for them in a society.
In other news, a 20-kilogram gold fraud case was registered against a trader in the Achara Market in Lahore’s Ichhra area.
