The Sindh government has decided to take immediate action on 13,603 corruption complaints filed against 22 departments, with the majority of complaints being against the Revenue, Municipal, Police, and Education departments. Minister for Anti-Corruption, Sardar Muhammad Bashir Mehr, has directed that swift and transparent action be taken against officials facing corruption allegations.
In a recent development, a Lady Constable was suspended and a case was registered against her at the Women Police Station after it was revealed that she had taken bribes to allow construction work in the Old City Area. The Lady Constable also claimed to have laid the foundation stones for various development projects in the area, including a road leading to the People’s Chorangi and the Mazar-e-Quaid. However, the road remains closed.
Pakistan has reiterated its continued support for stability and security in Somalia, a key ally in the region. Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar, stated that today marked the final day of Sindh Chief Minister Saeed Afridi’s visit to the province.
In other news, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a person with over $160,000 in cash, while Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated the Pakistan Navy on its successful missile test. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to provide all possible medical assistance to the injured in a recent accident in the Quaid-e-Azam City Area.
According to the Rangers spokesperson, the agency has seized goods worth crores of rupees in collaboration with the Custom Enforcement. Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Somalia and has reiterated its support for the country’s stability and security.
In a separate incident, Sindh Chief Minister Saeed Afridi’s convoy was ambushed, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to several others. Over 30 protesters have been taken into custody, with one police officer injured in the clash.
