The Sindh government is facing intense criticism over its handling of the crisis in Karachi, with many questioning whether the situation will improve if the capital is shifted from Islamabad to Karachi. Provincial Minister Naseer Shah made the remarks during an interview with Geo News, saying that the PPP has always been open to politics, but criticizing MQM is a waste of time. He added that when Zardari was in power, there was no need to seek MQM’s vote.
Mustafa Kamal, a former Karachi mayor, countered that every Punjab chief minister has been kind to Lahore, but the Sindh chief minister has not been kind to Karachi. He expressed no hope in the PPP, asking whether corruption and bribery are not rampant in Sindh’s system.
Naseer Shah responded that those criticizing the government must compare their words and actions, as the PPP never favored Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He also pointed out that Mustafa Kamal had acknowledged that Karachi received the most funds during Zardari’s tenure.
Meanwhile, the GDA’s spokesperson, Saif-ur-Rehman, said that no tourist has been trapped or harmed in the Galiyat region. The cleanup operation at the devastated Gul Plaza in Karachi is ongoing. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Senator, Barrister Ali Zafar, stated that the country has an 80-trillion-rupee debt.

The government has prepared an initial report on the ownership of the land where Gul Plaza stood.
