Karachi, Pakistan – Raafay, the vocalist of the popular Pakistani music band ‘Aur,’ has made a stunning revelation, disclosing that he was abducted at gunpoint and his new car was stolen in Karachi three months ago. The terrifying experience has left the singer so traumatized that he has resolved never to buy a new car in Karachi again.
Raafay, along with fellow band members Usama and Ahad, shared details about their career journey and the challenges they faced during an appearance on a ‘Geo News’ podcast. Raafay recounted that shortly after purchasing his new car and setting out on a trip, he was attacked by assailants and abducted.
Raafay described the ordeal, stating that the kidnappers drove him around on various roads for a considerable time, all while his eyes were blindfolded. Eventually, they abandoned him in a desolate spot before fleeing.
Band member Ahad corroborated the story, saying that after his release, Raafay took a rickshaw straight home and was in a state of extreme tension. Raafay expressed the profound fear he felt: “I was certain I wouldn’t survive, but I feel I endured those circumstances with great difficulty. If it were anyone else, they might have died from fear alone.“
Police Indifference: According to Raafay, when they approached the police to file a complaint, the officers flatly refused to register the First Information Report (FIR), stating that “This happens all the time in Karachi; it’s nothing new.”
Although Raafay later recovered his car (details of which were not provided), the experience instilled deep fear in him. He regretfully stated, “I have decided that I will never buy a new car while living in Karachi again. I will only buy a new car if I leave Karachi.” He also criticized the infrastructure, noting that Karachi has “fewer roads and more potholes.”
