Islamabad’s Sindh House became the focal point of significant political activity related to Azad Kashmir on Sunday evening, as Faryal Talpur, the in-charge of political affairs for the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), hosted a crucial dinner for key members of the assembly.
The dinner was held in honor of the members of the “forward bloc” who recently joined the PPP, along with other allied assembly members. This gathering is being seen as a major step in consolidating support for an anticipated no-confidence motion against the current Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
The event demonstrated a significant show of strength. PPP AJK members arrived at Sindh House led by Chaudhry Yasin. Prominent figures from the forward bloc, including Yasir Sultan, Chaudhry Arshad, Sardar Muhammad Hussain, Majid Khan, and AJK’s Education Minister Malik Zafar Iqbal, were also in attendance.
The presence of other senior political figures like Sardar Yaqoob, Tanveer Ilyas, and Latif Akbar further highlighted the importance of the meeting.
Sources suggest this was more than a formal dinner; it was a strategic move to finalize the numbers required for the no-confidence vote. The PPP has claimed that it has now secured the support of more than 30 assembly members, which is the threshold needed for success.
Following this development, it is reported that the PPP will formally announce its plan to submit the no-confidence motion very soon, confident that it has the necessary backing.
