A line of storms moved through North Texas Monday evening before an expected cold front whipped into the area, paving the way for possible wintry weather midway through the week.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Plano, McKinney, Carrollton, Frisco, Denton, Lewisville, Allen, and other parts of North Texas expired at 10 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm watch was also issued for parts of Dallas-Fort Worth through 2 a.m. Tuesday with a potential threat for hail.

Temperatures are forecast to stay mild Tuesday with a high of 72, but then a cold front should move through the area. Temperatures will likely drop into the 30s and 40s Tuesday night and are expected to fall into the low to mid-30s Wednesday.
Freezing rain and occasional sleet remain possible Wednesday and Thursday, with the best potential across northwestern counties. Minor icing on some roads and bridges and overpasses remain possible, according to the weather service.
The possible wintry weather event looks different than the early February winter storm, when Dallas-Fort Worth was coated in a sheet of ice. Temperatures aren’t expected to be as low, and the weather may resemble more of a rainstorm with a round of precipitation expected to start early Wednesday, reported KXAS-TV (NBC5).
There’s still some uncertainty in how cold it may get and where a freeze line may position itself, according to the weather service.
