The National Weather Service has lifted the severe thunderstorm watch for most counties, except those situated along the coast.
The watch is still in effect until 8 p.m. on Friday for Jackson, Brazoria, Chambers, Galveston, Matagorda, and Galveston Bay.
Following a series of storms during the evening, the severe thunderstorm watch has been discontinued in the following areas: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Houston, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington, and Wharton.
