Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui stated on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demonstrates no adherence to constitutional obligations or democratic principles.
In a post on X, Siddiqui wrote, “What kind of reconciliation with opposition parties is this, where their members are prevented from taking oath? This is the same unconstitutional and undemocratic conduct that the PTI founder adopted through Qasim Suri and Arif Alvi to avoid a vote of no confidence.”
Siddiqui further elaborated that while the no-confidence motion could not be halted in the past, similarly, the oath-taking of opposition members will not be obstructed now. He added that it has become increasingly apparent that PTI is not a party aligned with democratic institutions. “It exists solely for streets, crossroads, unrest and violent protest,” he asserted.
