Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have successfully carried out two intelligence-based operations, resulting in the killing of nine militants officially designated as ‘Khawarij’ and accused of being part of an Indian proxy network. The operations underscore Pakistan’s firm commitment to eradicating terrorism from its soil.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation, based on accurate intelligence, took place in Tank district, where seven Khawarij were eliminated in a fierce exchange of fire. The second successful action occurred in Lakki Marwat, where two more militants were killed during a separate fire exchange. The ISPR stated that the neutralized individuals were involved in various terrorist activities, and significant caches of arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
The success drew immediate and high-level praise from the country’s leadership. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the forces for achieving major milestones under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ (Determination for Stability) national vision. He emphasized that the entire nation stands with the armed forces in this war against terrorism and remains resolute in eliminating all forms of militancy.
The President of Pakistan and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also extended their tributes, praising the forces’ timely, professional, and effective response. They underscored the courage and determination of the forces in defeating the “nefarious designs” of the Indian-sponsored Khawarij, asserting that clearance operations are continuing to ensure the complete dismantling of the network in KP.
