Security arrangements for the ICC Champions Trophy have been finalized, with over 12,000 officers and personnel set to be deployed for the matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
According to police sources, coordination between the district administration, security agencies, and other departments has been completed to ensure smooth operations during the high-profile events.
A total of more than 10,000 constables and over 200 female officers have been assigned to security duties and checking operations. “We have made all the necessary arrangements to maintain a safe environment,” stated a police official.
In Lahore, 8,000 officers and staff members have been stationed to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators. Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, 5,000 officers have been deployed for similar duties.
Ongoing search operations have been conducted around player residences, routes, and stadiums. Snipers have also been stationed on stadium rooftops and nearby buildings to secure the premises.
