The Kingdom of Morocco has extended an offer of 10 fully-funded scholarships to Pakistani students for enrollment in Moroccan Public Institutions of Higher, Technical, and Professional Education for the academic year 2025-26, as announced by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
These scholarships are available to Pakistani and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) nationals across various fields, including medical studies, engineering, management sciences, veterinary sciences, and architecture. Students are eligible to apply for undergraduate, master’s, or PhD programs, provided they meet all the stipulated eligibility criteria, which encompass academic qualifications and age limits. The deadline for online registration is Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time.
Applicants must hold Pakistani or AJK nationality and are not permitted to possess dual nationality. Candidates applying for undergraduate programs must have completed a minimum of 12 years of education (FSc or A-level equivalent) and be no older than 23 years of age. For master’s applicants, 16 years of relevant education are required, while PhD candidates must have completed at least 18 years in a related academic field. A valid HAT (Higher Education Aptitude Test) or USAT (Undergraduate Studies Admission Test) score is mandatory, depending on the chosen level of study, and nominations will be determined based on these test scores.
Given that French is the primary medium of instruction in most Moroccan institutions, particularly in scientific and economic disciplines, selected candidates will be required to undertake a French language refresher course at centers such as Alliance Française in Pakistan during the 2024-25 academic year. Courses in Arabic Language and Literature and Islamic Studies are taught in Arabic, and applicants for these specific fields must demonstrate proficiency in the Arabic language.
Interested students are required to apply online through the HEC portal at scholarship.hec.gov.pk under the “Moroccan Govt Scholarship Program.” At this initial stage, the submission of hard copies of documents is not necessary. However, shortlisted candidates will subsequently be required to provide academic transcripts, motivation letters, recommendation letters, medical certificates, and other pertinent documents, including a police clearance certificate. If an applicant is currently employed, they will need to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
Applicants pursuing professional degrees such as medicine, engineering, or law are advised to confirm the accreditation status of their chosen programs with the relevant professional councils in Pakistan, including the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and Pakistan Bar Council (PBC). Special instructions concerning admissions to foreign medical institutions have been issued by the PMDC, and applicants are strongly encouraged to review these guidelines thoroughly.
