Scarlett Johansson recently shared a rare glimpse into the life of her 3-year-old son, Cosmo. The actress, who shares Cosmo with husband Colin Jost, offered details about her child during the London premiere of Jurassic World Rebirth on Tuesday.
When asked about her son’s musical preferences, the Black Widow star revealed to MTV UK, “My son’s favorite Chappell song is H-O-T T-O G-O, ‘HOT TO GO!’ I’m not sure if it’s my favorite, but because he sings it, it has become my favorite.”
Johansson, also known for her role in The Other Boleyn Girl, is also a mother to daughter Rose Dorothy, whom she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.
Scarlett seldom discloses information about her children, emphasizing her commitment to safeguarding their privacy for as long as possible. In an interview with InStyle in March, she expressed her view on fame as a burden, stating her desire for her children to have the autonomy to choose to stay out of the public eye.
“But if anyone knows me, I definitely over-share. I’m not a closed book, you know?” she remarked. “I’m politically active and vocal about it. But I am a private person in the sense that I value my close friendships. My family is very precious to me, as is their privacy.”
She further elaborated, “The anonymity of my children is very precious to me. I was talking to my daughter the other day, because she said, ‘Oh, I would love to make videos for The Outset.’ She was like, ‘Why can’t I?’ And I said, ‘Well, other than the fact that you’re 10…’ “
Explaining the complexities of public life, Johansson noted, “The thing about being a public figure is that the idea of being recognizable and celebrated feels fun, but then you can never stuff it back in the bottle. The reality of it is, there’s a massive loss to that, you know? So I think preserving that for as long as possible until it’s someone’s choice, that’s the choice I make as far as my kids go.”
