At its recent Unpacked event, Samsung introduced its Galaxy S25 series smartphones, which include the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Alongside these devices, the company also teased upcoming projects, unveiling the sleek Galaxy S25 Edge and confirming the development of a tri-fold phone.
Although no specific release date was given, it was suggested that the tri-fold device could be launched after the new Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip foldables, set for release this July.
This announcement positions Samsung in direct competition with Huawei, which has already launched tri-fold devices in its Mate X series. Samsung’s tri-fold phone is expected to feature a G-Type inward fold, offering enhanced protection for the screen.
When unfolded, the device is speculated to offer a tablet-like display ranging from 9.9 to 10 inches. Rumors suggest that Samsung will limit the production of its first tri-fold model to only 200,000 units for a market test.
Additionally, Samsung shared exciting news about its collaboration with Google on augmented reality (AR) glasses.
While specific details of the partnership were not revealed, this collaboration aims to combine Google’s software expertise with Samsung’s hardware innovation, marking a significant step toward Samsung’s entry into the AR space.
