Karachi, Pakistan – Traffic police in Karachi have taken strict action against a grave legal violation, imposing a hefty fine of PKR 50,000 on a minor boy for driving a commercial bus. The enforcement action came after a video showing the young boy dangerously operating the bus went viral on social media.
The incident occurred in the upscale Defence area of Karachi, where footage emerged of the underage individual driving a large passenger bus. This act constitutes a serious violation of the law and poses a significant risk to the lives and property of other citizens on the road.
A traffic police spokesperson confirmed that the heavy fine was imposed under the provisions related to juvenile driving. Allowing minors to operate commercial vehicles is a severe contravention of traffic regulations, which is why this significant penalty was imposed.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by traffic authorities in Karachi regarding the enforcement of road safety laws and the increasing problem of irresponsible behavior like underage driving on public roads. Traffic officials have indicated the possibility of further stringent action in the future.
