Sabrina Carpenter has recently hinted at her next career move, which she believes will “piss off” her fanbase. The “Espresso” hitmaker told Rolling Stone that she’s considering making her upcoming tour a no-phone zone, stating, “This will honestly piss off my fans, but absolutely.”
She recalled, “I went to see Silk Sonic in Vegas, and they locked my phone. I’ve never had a better experience at a concert.”
Sabrina enthused, “I genuinely felt like I was back in the ’70s. Everyone’s singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful.”
However, she acknowledged, “I’ve grown up in the age of people having iPhones at shows. It unfortunately feels super normal to me. I can’t blame people for wanting to have memories.”
‘Manchild’ Achieves Chart Success Amidst Controversial Artwork
This announcement comes as Sabrina Carpenter enjoys massive success with her recently released single, “Manchild,” which has become her first Billboard Hot 100 number one debut in both the UK and the US.
“Manchild” gained significant traction after Carpenter unveiled the concept art for the album it belongs to, titled “Man’s Best Friend,” which features her on all fours with her hair being pulled by a man.
Despite dividing fans over whether the cover is “not empowering” or “iconic,” “Manchild” has already achieved historic success in the prolific pop star’s career.
