Ryan Reynolds, who rose to fame for his role as Deadpool in the movie of the same name, is reportedly making plans to return to “Deadpool” once again. Recently, a source close to the Hollywood actor has revealed his surprising intentions for the next installment.
Reynolds previously starred in “Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024) alongside Hugh Jackman, as well as “Deadpool 2” and “Deadpool.” Disclosing his plans, insiders informed The Hollywood Reporter, “Reynolds is said to believe that keeping his f-bomb wielding anti-hero more on the sidelines could allow for the X-Men characters to be used in unexpected ways.” However, Marvel Studios production has yet to make any official announcement regarding this project. Previously, during an interview with Variety’s “Actors on Actors,” Reynolds candidly discussed that he wasn’t planning to join another sequel to the movie. “I don’t know. Honestly, my feeling is that the character works very well in two ways. One is scarcity and surprise. So, it had been six years since the last one, and part of the reason is that it swallows my whole life. I have four kids, and I don’t ever want to be an absentee [dad],” he stated. Before concluding, the father of four shared, “I kind of die inside when I see their faces and they do a sports thing or something and I missed it.” For those unaware, the first “Deadpool” movie grossed $780 million against a production budget of $58 million, a success that was reportedly a major win for 20th Century Studio.
