Erin Lichy, the star of the “Real Housewives of New York” (RHONY), has shared insights into how the reality show motivated her to author her first cookbook.
In a conversation with PEOPLE magazine, the reality television personality and entrepreneur, who has penned her debut cookbook titled “She’s a Host: An Unbuttoned Cookbook for Elegant Entertaining,” mentioned that it encompasses recipes, decorating suggestions, and various tips for organizing gatherings.
Lichy, who prepared shakshuka on “RHONY” following her appearance on the show in 2023, disclosed, “I think the idea came to me when I realized that people genuinely cared for and enjoyed my shakshuka recipe.”
For those unfamiliar, shakshuka is a North African and Middle Eastern breakfast dish consisting of eggs cooked in a sauce of tomatoes and red peppers.
Referring to her well-known dish, the 37-year-old added that she had shared it twice on her Instagram, receiving “such a great response, with people commenting that they hadn’t known what shakshuka was before I had posted it.”
“I felt a sort of obligation to share many other dishes that are quite ordinary to me but might be unfamiliar to most people,” she noted.
It’s important to highlight that Erin Lichy’s cookbook, “She’s a Host: An Unbuttoned Cookbook for Elegant Entertaining,” is scheduled for release on October 28, 2025.
