The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was shifted to Dubai due to ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India.
According to details, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had decided to relocate the tournament due to safety concerns for foreign players. Sources revealed that foreign players from all participating teams are scheduled to depart for Dubai this evening on a special flight.
The league is expected to resume in six days, though the final schedule will be announced once logistical arrangements are finalised.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has reaffirmed the board’s commitment to keeping sports and politics separate, saying: “The PCB has always stood by its principle of separating politics from sports.”
Condemning the shooting down of an Indian drone in Rawalpindi, he said: “The Indian attack on Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was an extremely irresponsible and dangerous act.” He added that the move appeared to be a deliberate attempt to sabotage the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10. “This was clearly aimed at disrupting PSL 10.”
Explaining the decision to move matches to the UAE, Naqvi stated: “The safety and well-being of both local and international players is our top priority. We shifted the matches to the UAE to shield them from potential Indian aggression. It is our duty to protect the physical safety and mental well-being of all players involved.”
Naqvi also highlighted the PCB’s resilience, stating: “The PCB has ensured the survival of cricket through every challenge and difficult time. We trust that all stakeholders will stand with us during this time.”
He reaffirmed the PCB’s commitment to the league’s success and the broader growth of cricket: “We remain fully committed to making the league a success and promoting the development of cricket in Pakistan.”
This development followed the postponement of the match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday. The PCB confirmed that the fixture has been rescheduled, in consultation with all stakeholders, with a new date to be announced in due course.
