Dengue fever attacks are continuing in Rawalpindi despite the recent shift in weather and drop in temperature, causing concern among residents. According to the District Health Authority, 19 new dengue patients were reported in the last 24 hours.
The health authority stated that 28 patients are currently receiving treatment in various city hospitals. However, in a note of relief, officials confirmed that no deaths attributed to Dengue fever have been reported in Rawalpindi during 2025.
According to the cumulative data for the year, 1,561 cases have been confirmed out of 20,798 people tested for the virus.
Detailing the prevention efforts, authorities reported that a massive surveillance campaign checked over 6.1 million houses and 1.7 million outdoor locations this season. During this drive, 228,794 sites where larva was found were eliminated. Strict actions were also taken against violations of Dengue SOPs, resulting in 4,736 FIRs, the sealing of 1,909 premises, and the imposition of fines totaling over 11.3 million rupees.
