HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Changes are coming to the start of your work week. Moisture continues to move in from Tropical Storm Roslyn that is currently in Mexico. It will continue to dissipate as it moves northeast but that moisture will move right overhead as we head into Monday. This coupled with a cool front late Monday into early Tuesday will give us a chance to see widespread rain here in Southeast Texas. Best chance of rain for the area will be between midnight-6 am Tuesday. We should clear out behind the front quickly so most of the daylight hours on Tuesday will be sunny.
Are we expecting any severe weather?
It’s possible that we could see a couple of isolated strong to severe storms late Monday into early Tuesday. The main threat is wind gusts over 60 mph but an isolated tornado or two also cannot be ruled out. The hail threat will remain low. Since this rain will be moving in overnight, you’ll want to make sure you have a way to receive warnings.
What’s happening in the tropics?
We’re not too concerned about a wave in the central Atlantic with a 10% chance for development, but we’re monitoring Tropical Storm Roslyn in the Pacific to bring us a chance for rain early this work week. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
