Federal Railways Minister Haneef Abbasi conducted an unannounced visit to Karachi Cantt Station today to personally assess the facilities and services available to passengers, underscoring the government’s commitment to railway improvement. He was accompanied by DS Karachi Mahmood-ur-Rehman Lakho and other senior officials during his inspection.
The Federal Minister toured key areas, including the CIP (Commercially Important Person) and Family Lounges, and also carried out a detailed check of the arrangements for passengers on board the Shalimar Express train.
Following the inspection, Railways Minister Haneef Abbasi offered high praise for the enhanced cleanliness and management at the station. He stated, “The facilities at Karachi Cantt Station are better than those in Lahore, and I have never seen the Karachi station this clean before.”
The Minister made an earnest appeal to the citizens of Karachi to take collective ownership and help maintain this new standard of cleanliness so that these improved facilities remain available permanently. He formally announced that he will inaugurate a significant upgradation project at the Cantt Station tomorrow, promising further improvements for railway commuters.
