Afghanistan’s seasoned batsman Rahmat Shah made history on Saturday by recording the highest individual score in his country’s Test history.
Details reveal that Shah compiled over 200 runs, surpassing the previous best held by Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, who had scored exactly 200 runs. Shah was on the verge of scoring 250 against Zimbabwe in the first Test.
Shah was ably supported by captain Shahidi, who also scored a century. Afghanistan performed remarkably well with the bat, especially after Zimbabwe posted a massive 586 in 136 overs, with Sean Williams (154), Craig Ervine (104), and Craig Ervine (110) each scoring centuries. Despite losing their openers, Sediqullah Atal and Abdul Malik, quickly at 64-2, Afghanistan made a strong comeback.
