A significant breakthrough has been made in the investigation of the deadly suicide attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Quetta on September 30. Security officials have successfully identified the second perpetrator involved in the horrific incident, a revelation that also underscores the cross-border dimension of the assault.
According to informed sources, the second suicide bomber involved in the operation was an Afghan national. He has been identified as Muhammad Sohail, who used the alias “Khabab.” Further details indicate that Sohail was a resident of Maidan Shahr district in Afghanistan’s Wardak province. This identity confirms his affiliation with the terrorist group designated as “Fitna Al-Khawarij.”
The brutal and cowardly act plunged Quetta into mourning. The attack tragically resulted in the loss of eight innocent civilian lives, while leaving 40 others injured, many of whom are still grappling with severe trauma and physical wounds.
Security agencies are thoroughly scrutinizing the network and motives behind this attack to prevent similar tragic events in the future. This identification clearly highlights the ongoing threat of organized terrorism that Pakistan faces from across its borders.
