Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Syria After 13 Years

According to Syrian authorities, international flights from Damascus International Airport will resume on January 7. Regular flight operations will begin on Tuesday, marking an important step toward restoring Syria’s aviation connectivity.

Qatar Airways has resumed flights to Syria after a 13-year hiatus. The airline will operate three weekly flights between Doha and Damascus, reflecting a renewed commitment to international relations with the country.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to restore operations at Aleppo Airport, while domestic flights within Syria have already resumed. Damascus International Airport has been accommodating international aid planes and diplomatic delegations for several months.

The resumption of flights signals progress in rebuilding Syria’s transportation network and reconnecting the country with the international community.
