Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed on Wednesday that his nation’s forces are “advancing overall” on the battlefield in Ukraine. He emphasized that Russia is actively working to ensure its long-term security.
In his statement, President Putin specifically highlighted the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk regions, asserting that enemy forces in those areas are “encircled and besieged.”
In an unusual offer, he stated that Russia is prepared to grant journalists access to these trapped Ukrainian soldiers. He added that it is now up to Ukraine’s political leadership “to make a decision” regarding its besieged citizens.
Beyond the comments on the war, President Putin also praised Russia’s new military technology. He said Russia can be “proud of its scientists” for the successful test of the Burevestnik missile and claimed that the Poseidon missile is “much more powerful” than the Sarmat missile.
