The Punjab Home Department has announced that Public Liaison Committees will function as community watchdogs.
A spokesperson for the Home Department stated that these committees will comprise respected members of society along with government officials to enhance coordination between the public and law enforcement agencies.
Deputy Commissioners across Punjab have been instructed to establish these liaison committees at the police station level to ensure improved community engagement and oversight.
