The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has made the decision to expand the Punjab cabinet, acting on a proposal put forth by party president Nawaz Sharif on Sunday.
Sources revealed that a crucial consultative meeting of the PML-N’s central leadership convened in Donga Gali, Murree. During this gathering, the Sharif family engaged in extensive discussions concerning the nation’s political landscape and pressing public issues.
The meeting was attended by key figures including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and former chief minister Hamza Shehbaz.
Upon Nawaz Sharif’s suggestion, the leadership reached an agreement to proceed with an expansion of the provincial cabinet. It is anticipated that 10 new ministers and advisers will be inducted, with a significant proportion of these appointments coming from South Punjab.
Sources indicated that Nawaz Sharif has been residing in the Bagh-e-Shaheedan area of Murree for the past three days.
At the invitation of the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, CM Maryam, and Hamza convened at Donga Gali, where they achieved a consensus on finalizing the list of prospective candidates for the newly created cabinet positions.
A shortlist of names will be jointly prepared by Nawaz Sharif and CM Maryam, with official announcements to be made following final consultations.
