In a recent press conference in Rawalpindi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Khan revealed that he has made two attempts to meet with Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court. Despite waiting for three hours, the CJ was unavailable. This comes as the PTI has initiated action against former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, branding him as a charlatan.
Barrister Gohar stated that the party will attempt to meet with the CJ once again, this time with a scheduled appointment, after visiting the divisional bench. He emphasized that it is the party’s constitutional and legal right to meet with its founder, Imran Khan, and that his three sisters also wish to meet with him. Others are present to express solidarity with the party.
The PTI leader urged that alleged corruption cases should not be levelled against the PTI’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and that the provincial government should also refrain from engaging in such activities. He requested that those levelling allegations provide concrete evidence, and that opposition leaders’ notification is a good step.
In a separate incident, an unknown individual lashed out at a petrol pump staff before setting fire to the premises. Police reported that eight people were injured in the incident, while 48 bodies have undergone post-mortem examination, and 86 people are still missing. Rescue teams are working to retrieve possible victims from the rubble.
