Texas: In response to a call by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), protest rallies and demonstrations were organized by PTI across various cities in the U.S. state of Texas, including Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Plano. A large number of men and women participated in these protests.
In Houston, PTI leaders Sajjad Burki and Atif Khan addressed the demonstrators, while in Dallas, speeches were delivered by Nadeem Zaman, Lubna Khan, Riaz Hussain, and Nazia Khan. The speakers demanded the immediate release of PTI founder Imran Khan and all innocent political prisoners, the repeal of the 26th constitutional amendment, the restoration of democracy and constitutional rights in Pakistan, and the return of the public mandate.
The protesters enthusiastically chanted slogans and sang patriotic songs and revolutionary anthems during the demonstrations. The speakers described the current government as unelected and called for its immediate resignation, emphasizing the urgent need for the release of their leader, Imran Khan.
Expressing concerns over the deteriorating human rights situation in Pakistan, the demonstrators and speakers urged the authorities to accept PTI’s three major demands as soon as possible.
Although the participants of these demonstrations in Texas were disheartened by the injustices and excesses taking place in Pakistan, they remained hopeful that one day the sun of justice and truth will rise in Pakistan. They expressed their belief that true democratic rule will prevail in the country, and the people will be empowered to make their own decisions.
