Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to develop a detailed, party-wide strategy for potential talks with the establishment, signaling a more serious and organized approach to breaking the current political stalemate in the country.
Senior PTI leader and Senator Shibli Faraz confirmed that a consultative meeting will be held within the party soon to discuss the possible dialogue process. Speaking to senior journalists, he stressed that negotiations are a sensitive and critical matter, requiring careful consideration and adherence to constitutional guidelines.
“We’ll find a way forward through consultation. The strategy has to be based on the principles of the Constitution and the rule of law,” Faraz said.
He added that the PTI founder is open to all sorts of talks if it’s in the best interest of national stability, and that the party is really looking to find a path that will help ease the political tensions. “The PTI founder’s doors are open for talks, but only for the sake of the country,” he stated.
Faraz further mentioned that the party doesn’t plan to keep debating the negotiation issue publicly moving forward. “This issue won’t be discussed in public again. It’s time we handle it with the seriousness it deserves,” he noted.
Acknowledging that the ongoing political conflict has pushed the country to a critical point, the PTI leader remarked, “Unless we find a meaningful way forward, Pakistan’s problems will continue. The country just can’t handle this current situation for much longer.”
He reiterated the PTI’s commitment to resolving the crisis through dialogue and reaching a consensus, adding that the upcoming party meeting will help them figure out a clear strategy for the future.
