The central spokesperson for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Kisan Wing, Khalid Nawaz Sadhraich, has demanded that the government immediately compensate farmers for the damages caused by recent floods.
Sadhraich stated that the widespread destruction of standing crops, including rice, sugarcane, and cotton, has severely impacted farmers and poses a significant threat to the country’s food security. He added that the floods have not only destroyed crops over a large area but have also ruined the resources necessary for future cultivation, creating a very serious situation across the country.
He assured that the PTI Kisan Wing will not abandon farmers during this difficult time. In addition to providing all possible assistance to help them recover from their losses, the wing will also raise their issues in the parliament. Sadhraich mentioned that the Kisan Wing’s Organizer, MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram, will compile a detailed report on the crop damage and present it to PTI founder Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, the PTI leadership has extended its condolences to all families who lost loved ones in the recent floods. The leadership also expressed deep sympathy for those who suffered losses of livestock, homes, and crops. The party stated that full assistance will be provided to flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that data is being compiled for this purpose. The spokesperson added, “It is the responsibility of the federal and provincial governments to declare a flood emergency in the country and immediately compensate the people for the losses they have suffered.”
