Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salmn Akram Raja stated that some of their party members are trying to arrange a meeting with the founder of PTI, Imran Khan. In a media briefing in Rawalpindi, Salmn Akram Raja said that he cannot reveal the names of those who are in contact with Imran Khan, but they want to allow his personal physicians to meet him. PTI aims to prolong the case related to their planned protest on 8th February.
Barrister Aqeel Malik stated that Dr. Asim and Dr. Khurram Murad, the personal physicians of Imran Khan, are being taken to Adiala Jail, and if they are allowed to meet their patients, it would be a reassuring move. Salmn Akram Raja said that no good news can be shared, as no meeting has taken place yet, but they will continue to sit and wait, and if the meeting is arranged, it could lead to further developments.
He added that it is the demand of humanity that Imran Khan’s personal physicians be allowed to meet him. Shafiq Jan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information, stated that if Imran Khan is recovering, his personal physicians should be allowed to visit him.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs stated that if Imran Khan does not trust the medical team at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), he can express his concerns in court. Senator Tariq Chaudhry, the Minister of State for Interior, stated that Imran Khan is healthy and in good condition, and this is not the first time that a prisoner has been taken to a hospital.
