Princess of Wales Kate Middleton reportedly became emotional during a meeting with a ‘lovely family’ at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening. Kate and William attended a Garden Party at the Palace on behalf of King Charles.
The Princess of Wales seemingly grew emotional as she and Prince William met the parents of Liz Hatton, the teenage photographer who captured the nation’s hearts with her courageous cancer fight. According to the Daily Mail, Liz’s parents Vicky and Aaron, alongside her nine-year-old brother Mateo, had an emotional chat with the royals at the garden party, held to honor their daughter’s memory.
The publication reported, “When Kate spotted Liz’s mother they embraced with a warm hug.” Royal expert Rebecca English also took to X, formerly Twitter, and stated, “Liz Hatton’s lovely family meet the Prince and Princess of Wales at Buckingham Palace today. Catherine hugged her mother Vicky @2ndtimeMama who told her: ‘You changed her life for the better, you changed ours too because our memories are all positive.’”
Vicky also took to X and shared photos with Prince William and Kate Middleton. She tweeted, “A truly special day getting to say thank thank you to some incredible people. We are truly grateful to have been able to say thank you in person to the Prince and Princess of Wales for all they did for Liz, but also for all the incredible memories they gave as a family, Because of them the end of her life was about Living not dying.”
Kensington Palace also released photos and a video depicting Kate and William meeting the family. The post was shared with the caption, “Lovely to meet so many inspiring guests from all over the UK at today’s Garden Party!”
