Royal expert Jennie Bond has shared her full commentary on how Prince Harry’s recent actions on television have ignited discussions about his divergence from the rest of the royal family.
Speaking to The Mirror, she drew attention to the stark contrast between the Firm’s silence and Prince Harry’s public airing of grievances to the BBC following the rejection of his appeal for taxpayer-funded security.
Speculating on his motivations, she said, “I suspect Harry may have spoken more candidly than he initially intended, driven by his anger over the unfavorable court ruling.”
However, Ms. Bond cautioned, “That is rarely the most opportune moment to express one’s thoughts.”
She also believes, “I think he might now recognize that he went too far in discussing his father’s health.”
Crucially, according to Ms. Bond, “despite their disappointment – and anger – regarding Harry’s interview, the Royal Family demonstrated their strength at the VE Day commemorations.”
For those unfamiliar, VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, marks the Allies’ acceptance of Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender during World War II.
“We witnessed a family that, in Harry’s absence, displayed significant unity, working collaboratively, with the three young children beginning to learn the intricacies of royal responsibilities.”
Concluding her thoughts, she pointed out that “within that lies the monarchy’s continuity, regardless of the actions of the estranged brother.”
