Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation (IGF) has announced an exciting development regarding the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.
The charitable organization shared the news on its official X handle, formerly Twitter.
Reposting images from Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, the IGF stated: “The Invictus Games flag is going on a journey around the world to spread the Invictus Spirit before arriving ahead of the next Invictus Games – @Birmingham2027.”
Earlier, the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 had tweeted: “The Invictus Games flag has set sail! Aboard the @RoyalNavy, it’s crossing the Atlantic with pride.”
The journey commenced in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the conclusion of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, where the flag was formally handed over to Team UK, the hosts for Birmingham 2027.
From there, it embarked on its voyage to the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS), where it was welcomed by both British and Canadian forces. The flag was transported across the North Atlantic aboard HMCS Ville de Québec.
This segment of the journey was facilitated by the Canadian Navy, contributing to the dissemination of the Invictus Spirit across the oceans and reinforcing bonds within the international community.
On its website, officials stated: “Upon reaching the UK earlier this month, the next chapter of the flag’s odyssey will begin aboard HMS Prince of Wales (PWLS), one of the Royal Navy’s most advanced aircraft carriers.”
