Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that overseas Pakistanis are a national asset and that the government is fully committed to protecting their rights, dignity, and well-being. He urged Pakistanis living abroad to set aside political differences and work together to enhance the nation’s image and contribute to its economic advancement.
In a special conversation with Daily Jang, PM Shehbaz emphasized the critical role of remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis in stabilizing and strengthening the national economy. He noted that these financial contributions have been instrumental in enabling the government to make crucial economic decisions, and they reflect the overseas community’s strong faith in Pakistan’s leadership.
Referring to recent geopolitical events, the Prime Minister highlighted that Pakistan’s global standing has significantly improved following its performance in the recent standoff with India. “Today, overseas Pakistanis walk with their heads held high across the world,” he stated, calling it a great source of pride for the entire nation.
PM Shehbaz also mentioned that the government’s economic team is working tirelessly to bring about economic stability and growth on an emergency basis, aiming to benefit both citizens at home and abroad. The Prime Minister added that he holds the Pakistani community in Japan in high regard and plans to visit soon to meet them, address their concerns firsthand, and incorporate their feedback into national policy.
“Our goal,” he concluded, “is to ensure that every Pakistani, no matter where they live in the world, can proudly say: I am a Pakistani—and be respected for it.”
