Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced that May 10 will be observed annually as ‘Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq’ to commemorate the magnificent success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos against Indian aggression.
He stated that ‘Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq’ will be observed across the country every year with fervor and the spirit of national solidarity.
“The professional capabilities of our brave forces kept our heads high with pride.”
The premier also announced that Friday, May 16, 2025, will be observed as a day to pay tribute to the armed forces for achieving magnificent success on the defense front and to express gratitude to Allah.
He informed that special prayers will be offered as a continuation of ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ and for the progress of the country and the nation.
PM Shehbaz also announced major decisions regarding the people and properties affected by the Indian attacks. He announced a ‘Shuhada package’ for those who were martyred during ‘Marka-e-Haq.’
The heirs of Pakistani citizens who were martyred during ‘Marka-e-Haq’ will be given Rs10 million, and the injured will receive between Rs1 million and Rs2 million.
Meanwhile, the heirs of martyrs from the Pakistan armed forces will be given between Rs10 million and Rs18 million, depending on their rank, and Rs19 million to Rs42 million for housing facilities.
Moreover, the families will continue to receive the full salary, including allowances, of the martyrs of the Pakistan armed forces until their retirement date. The children of armed forces martyrs will receive free education until graduation.
One daughter of every armed forces martyr will be given a marriage grant of Rs1 million for her wedding.
The injured from the armed forces will receive between Rs2 million and Rs5 million.
The prime minister stated that the federal government will reconstruct the houses and mosques affected during the Indian attacks.
“It is the government’s responsibility to take care of the martyrs’ children, and we will fulfill this obligation,” he informed.
The federal government will bear all medical treatment expenses for the injured, he said, adding that anyone who rendered services for the protection of Pakistan’s honor and dignity and its defense will be acknowledged at the national level and bestowed with awards.
