Following the successful establishment of Danish Schools, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the creation of a Danish University. He clarified that the university will be an applied sciences institution designed to achieve international recognition.
During his leadership of the Danish University Steering Committee meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the plan to invite leading global scholars and experts to contribute to the institution.
He further stated that the university will serve as a pivotal development in shaping the future of the younger generation, providing exceptional educational opportunities for talented students.
The project’s estimated cost is £190 million, and the Prime Minister stressed the importance of ensuring its punctual completion. He highlighted that Pakistan has never previously possessed an institution of this nature.
Regarding funding, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed that the £190 million was deposited into the Supreme Court’s account, and he expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice for acknowledging that the funds rightfully belong to the government and the people. He also noted that the government has been granted full discretion over the allocation of these funds.
The Prime Minister criticized the previous handling of the amount, deeming it an act of dishonesty and mismanagement, due to its transfer to an account unrelated to Pakistan’s treasury.
