Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Salman Akram Raja has alleged that a “political game” is being played in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to sideline the PTI and manipulate the region’s political setup.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Raja said that the true political leadership of Kashmir was present before the nation today. He expressed disappointment that PTI had still not been officially registered as a political party in Azad Kashmir.
Raja further claimed that attempts had been made in the past to create an “artificial political system” in the region. “Our 29 elected members were broken away and later declared independent, just to weaken the mandate of the people,” he added.
The PTI leader warned that such actions damage the democratic process and erode public trust. He said the people of Kashmir now realize that their right to vote is being repeatedly undermined for political gains.
