On Thursday evening, multiple lanes on North Freeway and Northeast Loop 820 in Fort Worth were closed due to a police pursuit that ended in a standoff on an exit ramp bridge.
The situation caused significant traffic delays lasting several hours until the standoff was resolved around 10:35 p.m.
NBC 5 footage captured a shirtless man on the bridge’s edge as SWAT officers approached. The man spoke with police, climbed back from the edge, and eventually surrendered.
During the incident, some drivers were seen leaving their vehicles, and emergency medical units were called to the scene for a “health condition call,” according to MedStar.
The identity of the man involved has not been released, and the reason for the pursuit remains unclear.
