The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast rain accompanied by strong winds in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, while warning of continued hot and dry conditions in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the Met Office, Islamabad and its surrounding areas are likely to remain partly cloudy, with a chance of rain and gusty winds in some places.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while most districts are expected to remain hot and dry, scattered showers with strong winds have been forecast for upper regions including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Battagram. Rain is also expected in Peshawar, Swabi, Mansehra and Abbottabad.
Other districts such as Nowshera, Charsadda, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Kohat, Karak and Dera Ismail Khan are also likely to experience similar weather patterns.
In Punjab, rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in northern parts including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum. Showers are also likely in Lahore, Sargodha, Khushab, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Narowal.
The PMD further said that rain and strong winds could occur in Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Jhang and Bhakkar, bringing a brief respite from the heatwave gripping the plains of central Punjab.
However, in Sindh, the weather will remain extremely hot and dry, particularly in the central and upper districts. The department also forecast strong, dusty winds during the afternoon hours across most parts of the province, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana.
Similar weather conditions are expected in Balochistan, where most districts will continue to experience high temperatures and dry conditions.
The PMD has advised the public to take necessary precautions, particularly in areas expecting strong winds and dust storms, while urging farmers and commuters to remain alert due to the changing weather patterns.
