HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A Frontier Airlines pilot was taken into custody on the tarmac just before a Dallas-bound flight was set to depart from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, according to airline officials.
The Houston Airports System confirmed that the Houston Police Department executed an arrest warrant on the Frontier Airlines aircraft around 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.
HPD identified the pilot as Seymour Walker, who was wanted on an assault family violence warrant issued by the Department of Public Safety.
The flight was canceled because a replacement crew member was unavailable. Passengers were offered a full refund, credit, or reservation on the next available flight. The airline also provided hotel accommodations if needed and a $100 flight voucher.
Houston police stated that Walker was arrested without incident after all passengers had deplaned.
