A Frontier Airlines pilot was arrested at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston on Thursday, Aug. 1, after police revealed he was wanted in North Texas on an assault-family violence warrant.
The arrest occurred around 4 p.m., just before Frontier Airlines Flight 3195 was set to depart from IAH to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were alerted that 45-year-old pilot Seymour Walker was on board the plane at a specific gate. Walker was being sought by law enforcement in Dallas-Fort Worth due to an assault and family violence warrant issued by the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Department of Public Safety.
Walker was arrested by Houston officers without incident and has since been released on bond.
Frontier Airlines confirmed in a news release on Saturday that a crew member was taken into custody by police prior to one of their flights. Due to the incident, there was no replacement pilot available, resulting in the flight’s cancellation.
“Impacted customers were offered the option of a full refund, credit, or re-accommodation on the next available Frontier flight later that evening,” said the airline. “Passengers were also provided a $100 flight voucher and overnight hotel accommodations as needed.”
