According to a spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the airline has taken the step to perform necessary maintenance on its special Boeing 777 long-range aircraft that fly across the Pacific Ocean.
In a statement issued on Friday, the spokesperson said that these aircraft have the capability to fly continuously for 17 hours without stopping. “Both long-range aircraft will undergo a three-week process of technical inspection and parts replacement, which is essential every 10 years,” the spokesperson explained.
He added that “the purpose of this maintenance is to ensure the aircraft are fully prepared ahead of the expected passenger rush in the coming month.”
