Karachi:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, marking a significant milestone in the national carrier’s efforts to strengthen its global network and enhance passenger convenience.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the agreement includes both cargo operations and frequent flyer program benefits. The codeshare will officially come into effect on October 31, 2025.
Under the partnership, PIA passengers will gain access to destinations not directly served by the airline, while benefiting from Etihad’s extensive global network.
Frequent flyer members of both airlines will be able to earn and redeem miles across shared routes, creating a more seamless and flexible travel experience.
The spokesperson noted that this collaboration will not only improve passenger connectivity but also boost PIA’s revenue, as it covers both passenger and cargo services.
Aviation analysts have hailed the agreement as a strategic step toward strengthening PIA’s international presence and enhancing its operational sustainability.
