Patrick Schwarzenegger recently expressed his admiration for his father Arnold’s current lifestyle.
The 31-year-old White Lotus actor appeared on SiriusXM’s Literally! With Rob Lowe on Thursday, where he discussed his father’s diverse collection of pets cultivated over recent years.
The conversation began with Lowe, 61, expressing his delight at the Terminator star’s small, personal menagerie.
“I absolutely love that Arnold has the miniature horse and the pig… it makes me want to do something similar,” Lowe told Patrick during the episode, a sentiment Patrick echoed.
“He has fully embraced this new, distinct phase of life,” the White Lotus star responded, referring to his 77-year-old father.
“It’s like… Doctor Doolittle meets a mid-life transformation, but infused with happiness and a more serene side of life. It’s genuinely amusing.”
“You might have seen it, but there’s this image of him presiding at his dinner table, a cigar in his mouth, with the miniature donkey positioned behind him on the right, the miniature pony on the left, and the pig contentedly eating right at his feet, then a small chihuahua on his lap, and the massive 180-pound Malamute husky nearby, next to the horse,” Patrick continued, painting a vivid picture.
“It’s as if they all encircle Arnold. He prepares specific meals; he has the oatmeal cookies, homemade ones that are beneficial for the horses. He has special meals for the dog. He even has the soup that the pig adores,” the actor added. “It’s truly something out of a movie. It really is.”
Patrick also addressed ongoing rumors concerning a potential show or film in development about Arnold and his numerous animal companions.
“Apparently, Brian, our friend Brian Grazer, is developing a movie about Arnold and the animals,” Lowe stated, referring to the renowned producer and frequent collaborator of Ron Howard.
“Every time I see Brian… I keep asking, ‘What’s the status of the Arnold animal movie?’ Because honestly, I can’t think of anything I’d rather watch than a film centered on Arnold and his pets.”
“I am completely on board to see that. I literally saw him yesterday, and he brought it up himself,” Patrick revealed. “I’m really hoping it comes to fruition.”
Arnold is a father to five children: his daughters Katherine and Christina, and his sons Patrick, Christopher, and Joseph.
