Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Health, Muhammad Kamal, has stated that the Prime Minister’s Health Card initiative is a historic step towards making healthcare facilities accessible to the masses. Interestingly, Sindh is the only province in the country not utilizing the Prime Minister’s Health Card. During the launch ceremony of the Prime Minister’s Health Card in Islamabad, the Federal Minister of Health emphasized that the health card program includes 70 hospitals from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as 16 hospitals in Karachi.
The government is committed to making healthcare facilities available to every citizen. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed that access to healthcare facilities is a fundamental right of every citizen, and the government is delivering on its promise to provide access to these facilities to the people. He also stated that the Health Card program was initiated by the previous government in 2016 and has benefited millions of families across the country.
The Prime Minister noted that the launch of the Health Card is a testament to the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people. He also emphasized the need for transparency in the program and suggested that the third-party audit ensure the program’s integrity. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister also distributed Health Cards to the attendees.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed the AIG to provide him with a daily update on the progress of cases. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his hopes for peace and stability in the region.
